I agree w/ everyone hear, in that you might have appeared to be drinking too fast,

but good that Admin chimed in to tell about the drinks,
personally I've had potent drinks and some weak ones too here and there,

and theBarTender could have been more tactful, erh,
You say you were at a wedding?! and that you WEREN'T behind the bar for a change?!

This experience of yours implys that this bartender was a MOBILE bartender and begs theQuestion, "Was he one of your Course graduates!?"

kidding-kidding!! d:oP

lov theBlogs, lov your sites,
You do have POUR service!!

You guys seem like the type of group I hope come in to my establishment. Groups like yours are always fun and make your day at work a blast, this is where you make your good money. You guys should have been treated like he was your best friend, at least that is how I would have treated you. I would have wanted you to come back to see me.

Thanks for the input! I wish I could show you the margarita glasses...probably held 8-10 ounces, and we were served a frozen premix that tasted like sugar water. Even 6 in an hour would keep a 12 yr old sober! (And no I don't promote underage drinking :-))

I thought the post was great. I hate when bartenders kill the party! And there are sooo many that do, many people haven't experienced a GOOD bartender. So, I couldn't agree more with your post and to everyone reading, follow these simple rules and DO NOTS and you should be just fine.

This was definitely an entertaining article but a lil disturbing. I think it was written a little too defensively and you forgot what its like for a second to be the bartender. Had you continued at three margaritas every thirty minutes, within an hour you would have been SIX times over the one hour per drink quota that is pretty standard by law. True it was a wedding and everyone's capacity for drinking is different; however had you been the bartender, what should hopefully have gone through your mind should have been a similiar red flag!!! Perhaps the bartender should have shown more tact in asking you to slow down; but anyone that's bartended long enough, especially weddings, knows that three drinks in thirty minutes is too fast and heading quickly for disaster.

Here are some more dont's for your list:
1) Don't be afraid to warn or stop someone whom has drinken too much or is drinking too fast!!! Especially don't be afraid because you think it might effect your tip!!!
2) Don't forget your responsiblility as a bartender!!! If someone drinks too much, it is YOUR FAULT as much as theirs.
3) Don't forget that the way you word your warnings to drinkers makes all the difference in the world, especially if its a friendly caution. Rememeber you don't have to wait until someone is "piss ass" drunk to tell them they need to slow down a bit.
4) Don't have your cell phone in sight of patrons (just my own pet peeve), SO NOT PROFESSIONAL :)
