CONTEST: Mobile Bartender LOGO Design
September 29, 2008 · Print This Article
Check out this really cool LOGO design created by one of my Bartend-4-Profit Customers. Bill’s company name is The Traveling Bartender, (a great name!) and he designed a perfect logo to accompany it!

Why are Logos so Important?
Your logo brands you! You put it on your business card, your website, promotional material, and much more…so it says a LOT about you and your business. As you can see with Bill’s logo, it is very professional and positions his company with refined elegance and class. The sense of “traveling” connotates cosmopolitan, worldly, and sophisticated. These are great characteristics that your clients will highly appreciate.
What do you think?
This is still a “rough draft” for Bill’s logo and a business that he is quickly building! What do you think of his logo? Do you like the name? the colors? GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS! Post in the comment section below!

The design looks good. The colors look good. I am not a huge fan of the design of the martini glass. The stem looks a little thick compared to the rest of the glass. Also, what purple drink takes an olive? Never seen that one before. I especially like the paint stroke at the bottom of the design though,
Pros: The name is clever, and the text for “traveling” looks about right maybe a change in color to improve it.
Cons: I do not like the way the font above and bellow “traveling”, It may look better if the font was either changed or put in italic. The colors could be changed in order to make it stand out more. I also think that the back round to the text should look like a mirror, and i think the line going underneath the logo should be replaced with a image of a bar.
i think the martini glass should be darker if he wants that as a logo why not make it SHOUT off the card rather then just linger….I myself have a martini glass on my businesscard and I use it in my return address labels and my stationery all that I just created yesterday in fact but now I call myself Mobile Bartender…you could say have shaker will travel……
Okay, I\’m not a marketing person, graph designer or in anyway artisitcally creative. I like the martini glass; the name is very creative; I like the font for the word traveling, but shouldn\’t the design include some type of travel? Just my amatuerish thoughts, thank you.
not sure what Brenda meant by some type of travel? Can you elobrate? Also, I joined the Chamber of Commerce and created my businesscards and a flyer and made a contact tonight so perhaps joining either Chambers or Kwanis etc., may help this young man get some leads and there are advertising people at these events and graphic designers they may offer some free advice for him as well!!!!
Good name could be more catchy but Im not wild about the design. Anybody could use this name and I feel like being unique will get you more attention!!! Go Getter
I like it! It’s simple, yet smooth. It tells you what the business is without having to guess. The purple martini needs to go.Everyone uses a martini glass .Go with something like a shaker tin on wheels?
I like the color scheme, I never would’ve thought to put the two together. The logo as a whole sends mixed messages. The font with ‘travelling’ is fancy, combined with purple – suggesting classy. The maroon/Tuscan font . . . not sure what to make of it. I would try another. And then the glass – - somewhat cartoonish, doesn’t seem to go with the rest of the logo. I guess it depends on how you want to be perceived.
I like the design, understated yet classy. If the cocktail glass was embossed so that it shimmers and catches the eye that would look cool. I like the paint stroke.

I agree. The logo looks great and the name is a perfect fit, but the martini glass is a little off. A few slight tweaks to the glass would be great. It makes for a great business card. One idea may be to get a large martini glass from an art supply store and put the business cards in there on your bar!
‘Mixed Messages’ is by far the best way to put it. The format of the text gives a perception of elegance, yet, the name is somewhat less flattering to that effect. Not to say that The Traveling Bartender isn’t a decently conceived name, but it kind of gives the visual of a door-to-door salesman, which is anything but elegant. And I have to agree, as boring as this is probably getting, that the martini glass really doesn’t belong at all. Maybe a whole new design for the glass or a new design for the font and color scheme. By themselves, you have great elements, and a great idea. But as a group…
I like the name of the business. However, I believe the FONT conveys something different than what the owner wants. The font signifies stuffy, elegant restaurant on 5th Ave in NY City or the the Peabody Hotel. A private party business will need to cater very few highly sophisticated in house events. Therefore, I would recommend that the font convey more a sense of “FUN” as opposed to the above mentioned image. Having said this, I know businesses have MANY logos so this may be one that you would use to a specific clientle. Great name and good luck with your new business.
Hello
The name is cute and catching. The matini glass could be a little more elegant.
need some nice ideas………
As a Graphic Designer, I dont think this logo works.
I think your logo should represent what your all about….
hence ‘the traveling” bartender. The design ispretty to look at, but so are 10,000 other designs. you have to design it so that it makes your company unique. Best thing to do in this situation is get a piece of paper out, and start writing everything about your unique business, whats the high light of it? maybe a traveling bar? use your font and logo to represent that. you don’t even need pictures or a martini glass to make your logo stand out.
I think the best logos are logos that are worked from the actual fonts that people look at it and say WOW.
for instance – look at the FEDEX logo. You see the negative space between the E and the X … there is a perfect arrow… it means GO… fedex is always on the go. once you notice that you will never look at their logo the same.
Think about it! =)
